Communities For Living

Sustainable Design

For Beaverbrook Developments, the decision to be “green” and sustainable is more than just a trend, it’s a choice. As a leader in the land development industry, we believe in taking a responsible approach to community development and home-building. Part of this approach involves using sustainable design to create sustainable communities.

We envision the designs of our communities to be more sustainable and environmentally friendly; as a result, we consider sustainable and environmentally friendly design elements in every project we develop. Our decision to incorporate “green” elements at both the neighbourhood (overall area) and site level (individual buildings) of design will enable us to make “green living” more desirable and practical, and financially affordable.

Some of the innovative design elements that have been applied include bioswales, naturalized grass and native plants, rain gardens, LED lights, wind power applications (where possible),  and construction waste management systems. By embracing the notion of more sustainable development and using these environmentally friendly design elements, we hope to develop future communities that will be enjoyed by generations of families to come.
